A subscriber needs help and sent me an email asking:
Tom,
I am researching continuing care communities and/or life care communities. My wife & I have doubts about committing ourselves to that lifestyle but we are attracted by the provisions of guaranteed lifetime healthcare and freedom from home maintenance. I would like to receive e-mails from current residents of such communities indicating their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with that lifestyle. Can this be accomplished through s2s?

If anyone can help Joe, please email him at the address just below his name. Do NOT email me. ----- ----- ----- On the other hand, should you have knowledge of continuing care/life care communitites and believe it would help everybody, please forward it on and I will publish it. After all, that is why this NL exists. ----- ----- ----- Today is primary day in Nevada. Fortunately I did not have to face the rigors of primary campaigning. I will for the general though given I have three opponents for the office. I am running for County Tax Assessor and happen to be the only candidate with a plan to lower, or eliminate, the property tax on personal residences.
The legislature passed a 3% cap on property taxes last year and existing in this very same mechanism is the process to eliminate property taxes on homes. If I get elected and am successful in abolishing real estate taxes on personal residences, I will be the only assessor in the United States to have accomplished this feat.
I am not simply tooting my horn. You see, the means does exist to abolish principal residence real eastate taxes in Nevada. Truth is, it is in the Nevada State Constitution. Real estate taxes are nothing but a rent owed government for the privelege of "supposedly" owning a home. I say supposedly because if you don't pay their extortion, they confiscate your residence.
My soap box is always in the on position but I'll spare you the rest of the story and ask you wish me good luck. Heck, if I get it done in Nevada, maybe you can get it done in your state using my model legislation. ----- ----- ----- Under the heading of learn something new everyday, vitamins C & E when taken together are very effective at preventing vision loss. Vitamin E blocks free radicals while vitamin C fortifies the watery portions of the cornea and retina.
Direct all questions to your primary care physician. ----- ----- ----- A tip to investors using online brokers. Some have account maintenance charges if your account falls below a certain balance. These fees are generally assessed quarterly and are in the $25 range.
Another charge these same brokers impose is an inactivity fee if you don't make a certain number of trades or your account falls below a certain balance. If this sounds like a double whammy, it is. Read the fine print before committing your money. ----- ----- ----- I don't know the figure outside of the U.S. but the average college student owes $19,000 after (s)he graduates. Wow!
My son will once again return to the UNR campus the end of this month. Knock on wood the boy did his homework. He received enough money in grants to pay his entire tuition bill. I will admit he was tenacious in searching for the money.
His only out of pocket expenses will be books but he thinks he has those covered as well. I hope so.
I mention him because if he can find the money, anyone can or so I think. Travis is not exactly a search engine whiz nor an Internet intellect. But he is a blood hound once put on the trail. ----- ----- ----- Another free anti-virus software: AVG Anti-Virus. Go to:

Today's article is about the medically uninsured. It is a great article because at least one state has taken it upon itself to do something for those classified as uninsured.
Personally, I don't believe any of us are uninsured. I believe we are all self-insured and the term uninsured was invented so people would have to pay full bore to receive medical care.
I am doing research in the area and almost have my theory solidified. When I do, I will present it in this NL. In the meantime enjoy:
UNINSURED WILL GET HOSPITAL DISCOUNTS UNDER HATCH AGREEMENT Uninsured patients in Minnesota will have much lower hospitals bills under an agreement announced Thursday by Attorney General Mike Hatch and four large Minnesota hospital systems. The plan offers people without health coverage the same discounts that hospitals give high-volume insurance companies. In addition, the hospitals have agreed to reform their debt collection procedures.
