I have an appointment with my heart surgeon on July 5th to set the date for my open heart surgery. This means several things but for the subscribers to this NL, it means no NL for the month of July.
I am told it takes about 4 to 5 weeks to recuperate from the rack and crack surgery. If I said I'm looking forward to it, I'd be lying but since the ole ticker ain't ticking like it should, I'm caught between the dog and the fireplug.

The stock market, particularly penny stocks, has been rekindled inside my in need of repair heart. DNA Genomics, symbol DNAG, came across my computer screen so I bought a bunch. If you are into penny stocks, this one truly sells for pennies and its core product may just one day be a household name.
By no means is this an offer to buy or sell or to entice you into entering an arena you find risky. I like these types of stocks and am willing to put a few bucks at risk and risky they are.
I also bought some options but I won't mention any names as one has to be a pure blood gambler to buy/sell options. At least in my opinion.
If I make it through OHS, I may just get heavier into the investment world and may just set up a special auto responder for anyone interested in watching my picks. But, that's if I survive and if I feel like taking on one more project.
A person emailed me and said the survival rate is 95% + and the recuperation period really isn't that long or that tough. He didn't tell me what the remaining 5% thought or had to say about the situation. <LOL>

I am helping one of my sons clean up his credit. It is a tedious process involving writing numerous letters. On the plus side, it is heartening when the first letter results in eliminating 4 entries right off the top.
The second round of letters went out last week so it'll be another about 30 days to learn the results. If it is as successful (it should be more successful) as letter one, boy will have a credit report looking almost decent.
Since I like doing this type of thing, I may make this another project, i.e., I'll put up our progress and what we did to obtain the results we obtained on a separate page for people to see. Since I already know nothing will happen till August, I'll mull this one over a bit before I commit to building a separate page/site.

The grapefruit, according to one newsletter, has these attributes:
1. aids in weight loss
2. protects against diabetes
3. lowers cholesterol
4. fights colds
5. prevents kidney stone formation
6. repairs damaged DNA
That is an impressive list to say the least. The article stating the above had the research quoted to back up the claims. Even if grapefruit only did three of the six, wouldn't it be wise to include it in the daily diet?
Don't forget - always check w/your doctor/medical advisor before commencing any sort of diet program. Although, I don't believe adding a grapefruit into your daily food intake is a diet, you might. And, I'm told, there are people who can not eat grapefruit for one reason or another. So, one more time, check with your doc.

Pay attention to today's article. It could be material to not only your health but your wealth. The article is short, sweet and to the point. Big Pharma wins again...

I had a good laugh this morning. I looked at our Alexa rating and saw our score to be a whopping two million four hundred thousand plus. I guess the material and resources we provide are worthless and the number of "thank yous" and "great material" emails came from people who didn't really mean to tell us our "stuff" helped them.
Hmmm, maybe I should have hired a professional site designer and keyword stuffed this site just to get a high Alexa rating and not paid any attention to the quality of the material, resources and links.
Just a passing thought before I get cut from stem to stern. -:)

2. Article
This article is from the newsletter: Better Health for Better Living dated June 28, 2006 and is titled:
The Fine Print
Starting June 30, you can expect to see new package inserts for all of your prescription drugs due to new FDA rules. These redesigned inserts are supposed to come with a table of contents and a "highlights" section. The highlights will include indications (what you're supposed to use the drug for), dosage, and how to take the drug. The supposed point of this is to benefit consumers, by helping to cut down on the number of preventable adverse events.
Sounds good, right? It is...for the drug manufacturers. Medical experts say that this won't really help with patient safety, and it won't really help doctors with the prescription process (deciding what medication to offer, and in what dosage). But this last-minute addition does help drug companies. Now it will be virtually impossible for patients to sue them if they do suffer adverse effects from drugs. As long as the drug company uses any FDA-approved label, the manufacturer is in the clear.
Until next issue,
Tom Koziol
