An idea to reform the government...

of the United States. It may be applicable in other countries so it is well worth the read.

This is an election year...

as you well know. This site:

http://www.crewsmostcorrupt.org

exposes the most corrupt members of Congress. If your representative or senator is listed, you may want to think twice before voting for him or her.

This is another election year...

site worth your time:

I won't say anything so as not to taint your takeaway thoughts or present preconceived notions.

Did you know...

each gram of fat contains about 9 calories while each gram of protein and carbohydrate contain about 4 calories? If you had a pack of luncheon meat that told you each slice of meat had 170 calories from 7 grams of protein, 1 gram of carbohydrate and 15 grams of fat, do you know how to calculate how many calories come from the fat?

Simply multiply the 15 grams of fat by 9 which is the number of calories in each gram of fat. You should get 135. Since you know there are 170 calories in the package, divide the 135 by 170. If I didn't do the math wrong, you will get .79. This .79 is really 79% since .79 is merely the decimal number for the percent number. In this case, 79.

If you are trying to cut back on the calories or are trying to lose weight, this isn't the way to do it. Since I have covered ways to reduce, i.e. lose weight, in previous NLs, I won't go into them here.

But, I will say anyone with a weight problem should be watching every calorie and every gram of fat like a hawk. Converting to a sensible diet that matches your life style is easy and just makes sense.

The FTC Telemarketing Sales Rule...

offers Americans a way to opt out of receiving telemarketing calls. It is called the Do Not Call list. You simply register your number and telemarketing organizations and list sellers are supposed to purge you off their lists.

To register, or get more information, go to: http://www.donotcall.gov. By the way, if you haven't registered and get a call you don't want, the law says if you tell the caller to take you off their list, they must remove you immediately.

Until next issue,

Tom Koziol
